Christianity Explored
A relaxed and informal way of sharing the best news you can ever hear, and gives people space and time to think about the big questions of life.

What’s each session about?

Over seven sessions, guests will read Mark’s Gospel to find out more about the life of the person at the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ.

The structure of each session is simple: a short Bible study, a talk (you can give your own using our talk outlines or use our films) and a discussion based on the talk.

Can we know God?
Seven sessions looking at Jesus’s life in Mark’s gospel, meeting the man who claimed to be God and discovering how he changed history.
When does the group meet
Christianity Explored begins Sunday April 19 and runs to May 31. The group will meeting YFMB room 204 at 11am on Sundays.

MBC 175th Anniversary Banquet

175 years of God’s faithfulness to MBC. We are amazed and the wonderful works God has done through his church over the past 175 years. To remember all that he has done and celebrate all that he has done, we will be having a 175th anniversary banquet! This banquet will be taking place on Thursday, November 12th at 7pm at Olde Mill Inn. We hope you can join us!
2025 Annual Report

Update 3/16/2023

The Annual Business Meeting was a great time for the church to recap the past fiscal year and to look forward to 2023-2024. Pastor Bob & Pastor Dave spoke about our plans to continue to be firmly planted, growing together, and investing in the lives of others. Larry Blakeman shared about the budget and new World Partners. We had a good time celebrating what God has done and expectant of the future of our church.

We did have quorum and voted unanimously to pass the proposed budget for 2023-2024.

Also, a motion carried unanimously for additional funding that was requested for 2022-2023. 

Hock Ng presented from the Elder Nominating Committee five new candidates: 

  • Jeff Callender (2nd term – 3 years)
  • Chris Dowden (1st term – 3 years)
  • Andrew Strain (1st term – 3 years)
  • Jan Torgrimsen (2nd term – 3 years)
  • Paul Wilford (Unexpired 1 year term – 1 year)

All gentlemen were approved.

Doug Hulin, Elder Vice-Chair, thanked our outgoing elders, Paul Achenbach and Hock Ng, for their investment, dedication, and leadership in so many areas. 

Pray for your involvement in MBC’s Vision based on Psalm 1:1-3.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Members will be emailed instructions on how to login to the ABM portal. This is the same web portal we used last year. You’ll need your username and password. There is a “forgot password” feature, in case you forgot.

We encourage all members to login prior to the meeting so that you can watch Pastor Bob’s pre-meeting instructions video as well as familiarize yourself with the Annual Business Meeting portal.

Most importantly, your participation is essential to this meeting’s success. According to our constitution, first we need 20% of active voting members to attend the meeting to constitute a quorum. MBC Missions Conference

Join us for our first ever missions conference at MBC! This will be a weekend long conference taking place from October 2nd to October 4th at MBC and is one of our events for our 175th anniversary!

The Annual Business Meeting was a great time for the church to recap the past fiscal year and to look forward to 2023-2024. Pastor Bob & Pastor Dave spoke about our plans to continue to be firmly planted, growing together, and investing in the lives of others. Larry Blakeman shared about the budget and new World Partners. We had a good time celebrating what God has done and expectant of the future of our church.

We did have quorum and voted unanimously to pass the proposed budget for 2023-2024.

MBC Summerfest

We are so excited for our first ever MBC Summerfest! This will be a great time for the whole family and the whole community to enjoy. There will be food, games, live music, and much more. The event will be taking place on Saturday, September 5th at 11am. This is going to be a great event to enjoy during our 175th year at MBC, we’ll see you there!

MBC 175th Anniversary Worship Service

MBC 175th Tree Planting Ceremony

Join us on Saturday, May 2nd at 11am for our 175th Anniversary Tree Planting ceremony at MBC! Millington Baptist Church has been blessed to do ministry in our community over the past 175 years. Our mission is to be a church that is firmly planted, growing together, and made to multiply. And so, we will be planting this tree to celebrate the 175 years God has worked through this church. We hope you can join us!

Easter Sunday 2026

He Is Risen! This Easter Sunday, we gather to celebrate the greatest victory in history—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His triumph over sin and death is the foundation of our faith and the source of our eternal hope.

The empty tomb is more than proof of Christ’s power over death; it is an invitation to new life. Paul declares that we have been given the ministry of reconciliation (v. 18), called to share the good news that God no longer counts our sins against us because of Jesus. In a world filled with brokenness, this message of reconciliation and renewal is more needed than ever.

As we celebrate Christ’s resurrection today, let us reflect on what it means to be a “new creation.” What areas of our lives need His renewing power? How can we live as ambassadors of His grace, proclaiming the victory of the risen King?

This Easter, may we rejoice in the hope we have in Christ, embrace our identity as God’s redeemed people, and proclaim with confidence: He is risen indeed!

Retreat Speaker: Gail Loehr

Gail will be our guest speaker at the Retreat. She has been a devoted member of MBC for over 30 years and has faithfully co-led Women’s Tuesday Night Bible Study for 25 years and continues to serve in that role. She also leads the Circle of Sisters teen group on Sundays. We hope you can come to our 2026 Retreat to hear all that the LORD has put on her heart to share.

Come and learn more about the mission and ministries of MBC while we enjoy some light refreshments. You will be introduced to some of our MBC Staff and Leadership, and have a chance to fellowship and ask questions.
