Young Adults Class: Preparing for the Next Stage of Life, Ages 18-25 Meets July 7, 14, 21, & 28, 10:45am, YFMB, Room 202 If you are in college or newly embarking on a career and don’t feel fully prepared to face many important aspects of life, such as: managing money, creating a resume, interviewing, taxes, investing, or even deciding on a church, this 4-week class will help prepare you for what lies ahead in this next stage of your life.
The Church isn’t a building – it’s people! We want to make sure that everyone can experience the MBC community and stay connected whenever they want.

Description: Power Hour meets Saturday mornings from 7:00-8:30. It is a group of men seeking to know God better by concentrating on how He speaks to us through Scripture. After an opening prayer, we look at a portion of scripture directly, or use a topical book based on scripture, seeking not only knowledge, but wisdom: wisdom being the application of knowledge learned. But it is more, for it is a place where a man can share personal concerns, seeking help and guidance, knowing that everything discussed will be kept in strictest confidence by the group. We end with a time for prayer, as the Spirit moves us each to do so.

Audience: Parents with kids ages 1-10
Topic: The Birds and the Bees – talking to your kids about sex. This group is for parents who want to have open, honest conversations with their kids about sex and growing up without fear or (too much) awkwardness. We’ll watch the video series together and talk about how to approach these topics thoughtfully and biblically, with clear guidance and simple language you can actually use. Our goal is to help parents strengthen the trust with their kids and to equip them to confidently lead the conversation on this topic at home.
Have you noticed distance between your Adult Child and you in recent years? Has your Adult Child gone “No Contact” or cut you off completely? Do you have less communication with your adult child or does it feel like you are “walking on eggshells” when you speak with them? Did you know Social Media/Culture plays a large role in this?
Estrangement has reached epidemic proportions in recent years. If you Google it, you will find that 27% of adult children are estranged from both or one of their parents – that is one in four households. Some research suggests 40% experience one family estrangement.
This new group aims to provide support for parents who are hurting in these situations through group support, discussion, prayer and spiritual discernment.
This group will meet Tuesday nights at 6:30pm at MBC starting 2/17.

This 8-week study will be utilizing the Spiritual Formation Workbook, a resource of Renovare (from the latin meaning “renew”). Together, we will explore the six major dimensions of the spiritual life found in the life of Christ and Christian tradition: The Contemplative Tradition – The Holiness Tradition – The Charismatic Tradition – The Social Justice Tradition – The Evangelical Tradition – and The Incarnational Tradition.
Successfully used by thousands of Spiritual Formation Group participants, A Spiritual Formation Workbook has been completely revised to correlate with Richard J. Foster’s “Streams of Living Water.” Its new and updated exercises and teachings offer fresh perspectives on Christian faith and practice.
The price for the book is $12.00. Because of restrictions, we will meet via Zoom as of right now.
This group is specifically designed for people who have little or no background in the Bible, but would like to take a look and see for themselves what it says. The Investigators study will be held in a relaxed, welcoming environment, and is an excellent opportunity for you to invite that questioning friend who is seeking to learn more. Why We Partner
City Relief has been one of MBC’s strategic local partners for many years. We value their commitment to meeting individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity, consistency, and Christ-centered compassion. Their work aligns closely with our desire to engage our community in ways that are both meaningful and sustainable. As a church, we believe that caring for those facing homelessness involves more than financial support. Scripture calls us not only to give generously but also to go—to be present with people, to listen, to pray, and to meet needs in practical ways. Serving alongside City Relief allows our congregation to live this out in a tangible and faithful expression of the gospel.
Our partnership reflects a simple conviction: the Church is at its best when it combines generosity with active service. By joining City Relief on their mobile outreaches, we have the opportunity to step beyond our walls and participate directly in the work God is doing on the streets of our region.
What Does an Outreach Day Look Like?
Our outreach days begin early. We depart from MBC at 7:15 AM sharp and travel to the City Relief base in Clifton, NJ. Volunteers who prefer to meet us directly at the base are welcome to do so. Upon arrival, we meet with the City Relief outreach leaders who guide us through the day. Before heading out, we participate in essential preparation work—making drinks, bagging bread, loading the buses, and helping prepare City Relief’s well-known soup. These behind-the-scenes tasks play a meaningful role in ensuring the outreach runs smoothly. Once everything is ready, we load into City Relief vehicles and depart for the outreach site. Throughout the outreach, volunteers can serve in a variety of ways: handing out soup, drinks, and resources; offering hospitality and conversation; or assisting behind the scenes by scooping soup and replenishing supplies. There is a place for every volunteer to contribute. At the conclusion of the outreach, we return to the Clifton base to assist with cleanup. After wrapping up, we head back to MBC, typically returning by 4:30 PM (often earlier depending on the day).
Dress appropriately for the weather, as volunteers will be outside for the duration of the outreach. For winter outreaches, we strongly recommend dressing warmer than you think you’ll need. We also ask volunteers to dress modestly, wear comfortable closed-toed shoes, and avoid wearing flashy or valuable jewelry. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Phones, wallets, keys, and other valuables can be stored securely on the City Relief bus, at the Clifton base, or in the MBC van.
City Relief outreaches are well-organized and generally safe environments, but—as with any public setting—situations can arise. Volunteers are asked to wear modest clothing, avoid giving out personal information (such as phone numbers or full names), and remain within sight of City Relief leaders at all times. City Relief staff are trained in de-escalation and are present throughout the outreach to ensure volunteer and guest safety.
City Relief operates in rain or shine. Our neighbors on the street rely on the support provided through these outreaches, and their needs continue regardless of the weather. Volunteers should plan accordingly and dress for the conditions.

Market Street Mission Life Change Program Summer Graduation

Join us for an evening of fellowship as we celebrate the men who will be gradating from our addiction recovery program and hear the testimonies of how their lives have been changed through the healing power Christ.
Serve with the Mission |Market Street Mission (MSM) ministers to the homeless, helpless, and hopeless in northern NJ by meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through a structured program which enables them to lead responsible, productive lives. MSM provides food, shelter, clothing and other necessities, and meets emotional and spiritual needs with guidance and life change programs.
Volunteers from MBC help with meal service on a monthly basis (5 dinner meals) and Thrift Store merchandising and assistance.

Eyeglasses Needed at Market Street Mission
Many men who come to the Mission for help have poor eyesight. We are collecting and recycling glasses in an effort to help the men in our recovery program with vision loss. If you no longer need your used glasses, please consider donating them to the Market Street Mission. By donating them you can give a gift of vision to someone in need. You can drop off your used glasses at the front desk of the Mission located at 9 Market Street in Morristown, ship them to MSM or call to arrange for a pick up. Contact Nancy Motley at 973-538-6337.

Description: Power Hour meets Saturday mornings from 7:00-8:30. It is a group of men seeking to know God better by concentrating on how He speaks to us through Scripture. After an opening prayer, we look at a portion of scripture directly, or use a topical book based on scripture, seeking not only knowledge, but wisdom: wisdom being the application of knowledge learned. But it is more, for it is a place where a man can share personal concerns, seeking help and guidance, knowing that everything discussed will be kept in strictest confidence by the group. We end with a time for prayer, as the Spirit moves us each to do so.

Men's Events
The Men’s Ministry offers several large group breakfasts throughout the year and will be kicking off service projects beginning this fall. Additionally, throughout the year, the men plan activity nights and family baseball game outings at the Somerset Patriots’ ballpark in Bridgewater.

Time: 8:00am – 9:30am
Where: Fellowship Hall
What: We invite all men and their sons to join us for a time of comraderie over breakfast at Fellowship Hall. We will have the incredible opportunity to hear the testimony of God’s power at work in the life our our brother Chris Acker. In addition, we will have a time of worship and focused prayer. No registration is required. We will also have an opportunity to support the Teens’ summer mission trip to North Carolina through a bake sale by some of the teen guys at the breakfast. So spread the word and invite a friend!

The Men’s Ministry is calling all MBC men and their sons to join us on Saturday, March 9th at 8:00am in Fellowship Hall for a time of fellowship, worship, and encouragement at our next Men’s Ministry breakfast.
It has been said that two of the greatest proofs for the truth of Scripture and Christianity are the number of fulfilled prophecies we see in Scripture and the power of God to change lives. At our upcoming breakfast we will have the opportunity to hear from two of our brothers in the Lord and witness how God pursued them and restored them into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our brother Amit Nihilani will be sharing the testimony of God’s grace and mercy in their lives.
Your presence will also be an encouragement to the men from Market Street Mission who will also be joining us for this breakfast.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday March 9th.

Adult Education | Our education program provides a rich variety of learning opportunities on Sunday mornings to complement the worship experience. Participants explore in depth various books of the Bible or a topic of current and shared interest. Old and young, new and seasoned believers, we never stop learning. All are welcome to take this journey even if you are someone with questions about the faith. Each class provides a combination of leader-led presentation and class discussion that allows us to learn from each other as we study God’s word together. As a result, we grow in our understanding of our Lord and the greater story He’s calling us into.
Women’s Bible Class | Galatians

This class meets weekly on Sundays in the YFMB Room 204 at 9am. Please join us for coffee, fellowship, prayer support and discussion as we move through a book in the Bible verse by verse. We are currently in Galatians. All are welcome, whether you have been studying the bible for many years or you have just started on your journey in the Word.

Adult Class | Cultivating the Christian Life: Firmly Planted” Small Group experience
Leaders: Andrew Strain, MBC Elder & Amy Huber, Director of Discipleship and Connections
This course is the first track in a three-track series which lays out the essential foundation for MBC’s discipleship journey. Like a seed planted in good soil, spiritual life begins by anchoring ourselves firmly in the truth of the Gospel. Designed as a community small group, this track will be highly practical in nature as participants learn to plant their feet on solid theological ground and embrace the seed of the Gospel daily as the source of life and transformation. From there, roots begin to grow deeper. We address the heart, not just behavior, learning to identify the root issues beneath our struggles and to understand our new identity in Christ. Rather than pursuing quick fixes or surface change, this track cultivates honest repentance, renewed thinking, and confidence in who we are and whose we are. By the end of Track 1, participants will be grounded in Gospel truth, rooted in love, and established in a biblical understanding of spiritual growth. This is where stability forms, where faith deepens, and where real transformation begins beneath the surface ($25 Cultivating the Christian Life Workbook is recommended but not required).
Class will be on Sundays at 10:45am for four consecutive weeks beginning March 15 through April 12 (except for Easter Sunday) in YFMB 204.
Stephen Ministries Class | Christian Caregiving – A Way of Life
