Disabilities Ministry
by Noah Graves
“God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong.”
1 Corinthians 1:27
Our Vision
Weakness Is Not the Exception. It’s the Canvas.
Throughout Scripture, God consistently reveals His glory not through strength, achievement, or perfection—but through limitation, suffering, and dependence. From Jacob’s limp to Moses’ stammering tongue, from Mephibosheth welcomed at the king’s table to the man born blind, the biblical witness is clear: disability is not an exception to the image of God, but an expression of it. At Millington Baptist Church, Upside Down Glory is our commitment to live out this conviction together—building a church family where every person, of every ability, is welcomed, discipled, and empowered as an essential member of the Body of Christ.
This ministry is more than a program—it is a culture. Through our partnership with Joni and Friends, our Disability Leadership Team (DsLT), and a growing network of care, hospitality, and outreach, we are working toward a church that looks like the Kingdom: a table with room for everyone. Whether you are personally navigating disability, loving someone who is, or simply answering a call to serve the overlooked, there is a place for you here. Explore the resources below, join our team, and help us become a church known for the upside-down, glory-revealing love of Jesus Christ.
“Dignity before ability. Belonging before healing.”

Ministering to Those with Disabilities
Check out this video that overviews the heart behind our “Upside Down Glory” ministry at MBC
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Resilient Life
by Marc DAgusto
The Resilient Life
We live in an anxious age. Our 24 hour news cycle, social media hype, and globally connected world fuels our fears. Danger seems to be lurking around every corner. To counter this, the secular world has crafted “safe spaces” to shield the next generation from pain and suffering. But is this the solution? Are we meant to avoid stress and live a comfortable?
Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians tells a different story. With boldness and love, Paul exhorts the believers: “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, ESV).” In short, he calls the Corinthian Christians, and us, to love the resilient life?

What is the resilient life? We are able to recover quickly, because we know where our hope lies. As Paul writes, “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison (2 Cor. 4:16-17, ESV).” This series will look at themes in 2nd Corinthians and draw from the five practices of resilience outlined in the book Faith for Exiles. By the end of this series, we hope you will be prepared to live a RESILIENT LIFE for Christ.
