Jason Thacker will be our special guest and the topic will be “And Who is a Person? Human Dignity in an Inhuman Age”. As Christians engage the important questions of bioethics, a central question emerges: What does it mean to be human? Christian ethics affirms that all human beings are moral persons, deserving of our care, protection, and respect. Yet many today argue that not all human beings qualify as moral persons, appealing to various capacities or arbitrary markers. In our culture, personhood is often viewed as something gained or developed over time—a view that stands in contrast to the biblical vision of inherent human value and dignity as image bearers of God. This session will equip you to engage these debates thoughtfully and to stand for the dignity of all human beings, regardless of ability, location, or stage of development.
