Automatic Import:
In general, videos uploaded to Vimeo.com should be automatically imported into MBC’s WordPress Site
The status of the automated import mechanism can be verified by going to Videos->Automatic import in the Dashboard menu, or clicking this link: Automatic Import
This page will also show the total videos imported, as well as when the last import query run was made
A good “status” is “Import as custom post”, a bad status would be “Not in Queue”.
If the status is “not in queue”:
- Check the box next to the MBC Vimeo Channel import item
- Under the drop down above (which says “bulk actions”), select “add to import queue”
- and hit Apply
Verify that the import is functioning.
Vimeo Video - After Import
After Vimeo Videos are imported (Automatically or not), they will appear in the Videos (and Videos->All Videos) area of the dashboard.
At this point:
- Check the Vimeo video titles for spelling or formatting errors
- Properly categorize the videos
- If the video is a Non-Sermon video, it will be categorized using the taxonomy “Vimeo Video categories“
- If the video is a Sermon video, it must be categorized using the taxonomy “Sermon Video Categories“
For SERMON videos:
In the section of “Edit Video” page labeled: “Sermon Video Categories”
- Check the sermon series category this sermon belongs to, add category if missing
- Check the Speakers in this sermon, add category to speakers/guest speakers if missing
In the section of “Edit Video” page labeled: “Podcast Series”
- Check the podcast series this sermon belongs to
