A Beautiful Mess. Coming from a Dysfunctional family doesn’t destine you for a dysfunctional life.
A Sermon Series on Dysfunctional Families based on Genesis 25-35.
Family seems to have so much power over us. Why is that? Whether we have our own family or not… all of us grew up in a family. Our experience with this group of people forever shapes our lives. Truth be told, family can be a source of tremendous life giving joy. Family can also be a source of palpable pain that leaves us angry and confused, unable to move on. Family can make us who we are, and family can break our hearts.
And yet… when we search the pages of the Scriptures… we see that families are the building blocks of society. God chose to bless this world and bring about its redemption… through a family. In the midst of pain and brokenness, God promises healing through adoption into a new family with Him as our Heavenly Father.
In this sermon series, we will seek to address the challenges we face in every one of our families. Those challenges make us who we are. But even in the dysfunction of our families… God can bring about healing and redemption. God uses the beautiful mess we called family… to change lives… through the power of the Gospel.
