The MBC Buildings & Grounds Team is looking for members to help make our campus CLEAN & SAFE! This is a great opportunity to be a part of a team focussed on beautifying God’s house through hands at work, hearts in worship, and building God’s people.
What is the purpose of the MBC Buildings & Grounds team?
The MBC Buildings and Grounds committee is a volunteer team of individuals who have a heart to put their skills to work on campus. We’re looking for individuals who take leadership in the areas of plumbing & ac, electricians, masons, painters, landscaping, contracting, cleaners & organizers, and interior design. Teams would meet 5-6 times a year depending on the project needs and volunteer basis. Ideally, each team has a chair point person to head it up and organize projects.
Fence line clean up and cemetery inspections. Inspecting quality of vegetation and create outdoor seating spots. Outdoor furniture maintenance. Check quality of fixtures inside the building such as walls for holes, loose legs on tables, cabinets that need repair, loose hinges, ceiling tiles, outdoor painting, pressure washing, and parking lot railroad ties.
Routinely check all the toilets and faucets for any needs. Check all faucets for leaks. Check outside hose bibs for leaks and operation. Look at any exposed water piping or gas piping for potential leaks and repair as needed HVAC – change HVAC filters and service units in off season. Update thermostats and add sensors if needed. Repair HVAC units if needed and charge refrigerant if low.
As needed – add outlets, check and adjust timers and outdoor bulbs for replacement. Update electric as needed across campus.
Closets, sheds, and attic cleaning – shampoo chairs, wash walls, baseboard washing, stairwell cleaning, tv cleaning.
Room by room repaint and touch up as needed. Remove wallpaper from stairwell and repair/paint as needed.
General building upkeep – patch/spackle holes, vanity replacement, baseboard trim update, and stage/sanctuary upkeep.
Repair steps, handrails, retaining walls, fascia repairs.
