From Jacob’s limp to Moses’ stammering tongue, from Mephibosheth welcomed at the king’s table to the man born blind, the biblical witness is clear: disability is not an exception to the image of God, but an expression of it. At Millington Baptist Church, Upside Down Glory is our commitment to live out this conviction together—building a church family where every person, of every ability, is welcomed, discipled, and empowered as an essential member of the Body of Christ.
This ministry is more than a program—it is a culture. Through our partnership with Joni and Friends, our Disability Leadership Team (DsLT), and a growing network of care, hospitality, and outreach, we are working toward a church that looks like the Kingdom: a table with room for everyone. I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
