To the villages we went. Today marked our first time going into the villages about a 45 minute ride from where we are staying. Quite a perspective change from the capital to the village. The Lord opened our eyes today in how people around live on a daily basis. Hopefully what we did today was pleasing in our Lords sight!
We started the day bringing manna packs to villages that had tin over their heads as their roof and walls. We gave them food and prayed over them as we did that.
After that we painted some houses in that area to give their homes a touch up to show them we care and want them to feel as though they and their houses matter. Following that we had our first meal in the village, and wow was it tasty!
The afternoon was jam packed with heat and more work to do. Some of our group moving cinder blocks and rocks to lay a foundation for posts and a new project. Those shirts are not wet with water but sweat! Lots of water was consumed today!
While the other group brought food to another village, sang some worship songs, performed a drama and preached the word of God to an extremely poor village. Incredible to see our group come together to use their gifts to glorify the Lord by caring for his creation. We were reminded today that we are all created in the image of God.
Night ended with one more village we supplied food for and then we had dinner ourselves. A full day but one we will all remember.
Thank you for your constant prayers for our team! Excited for day 3.
