INDOOR In-Person Services

Reserve Your Seat(s) HERE

Welcome to Millington Baptist Church! If you’re planning to join us on campus, take a moment to watch our “what to expect” video below which walks you step-by-step from your arrival on campus to your departure at the end of the service, as well as some guidelines we’ll be implementing. If you don’t see an answer to a specific question, please don’t hesitate to contact the Ministry Leadership Team at mlt@millingtonbaptist.org.

As you can see, we are preparing safe, comfortable, and distanced seating areas in our sanctuary as well as in our overflow spaces.

We are also installing a new, state-of-the-art HVAC system technology to further reduce the risk of viral transmission. The installation of this system is still in progress and is not yet complete. We will let you know when it is finished.

If you plan to join us in person, there are 2 things to remember: first, Reserve your seat online. Second, please familiarize yourself with our Indoor Services Guidelines to ensure your best and safest experience with us on Sunday.

Please contact the Ministry Leadership Team at (mlt@millingtonbaptist.org) if you cannot locate the answer to a specific question.

Video: What to expect upon your arrival

A reservation is required to attend service in person.

Millington Baptist Church has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as stated within our Campus Guidelines (below); however, the church cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. By reserving a seat below, you are acknowledging that seats are limited and an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present and do so at your own discretion.

MBC Guidelines for COVID-19 Precaution

Indoor Services Guidelines

Social Distancing

The Surgeon General and CDC strongly recommend that we keep social distancing (a 6’ buffer between people) during these times.

Yes, we will require the use of masks until further notice. These should be in place prior to entering any building and be worn properly throughout the Service. We regret to inform you that gaiter and bandana face coverings will not be acceptable. We will have masks available if you do not have one.

Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the campus.

We will have a touchless forehead thermometer available to take temperatures.

Entering/Exiting the Building

Front doors to the sanctuary building will be propped open before and after services to prevent the need to touch door handles. Greeters/ushers will welcome you to the church with a smile and a wave at the appropriate distance.

Physical Contact

Please, as a general rule, avoid physical contact with others. While you may feel comfortable with some form of contact, other individuals may not. Feel free to wave hello from a safe distance.

Facility Changes

Hired help and/or Volunteers will be sanitizing and cleaning both before and in-between services. Special attention will be given to chairs, doorknobs, handles, and all contact surfaces.

The Fellowship Hall Café will be closed until further notice.

Services will continue to be live-streamed on our website and on Facebook for those that choose to join us online.

Communion elements will be administered using a prepackaged, sealed bread, and juice cup. Individually wrapped gluten-free options will continue to be made available.

Offering plates will not be passed around. There will be a centralized area to submit offerings. We continue to encourage the convenience of online giving.

Pens/Connect Cards/Tithe Envelopes will be removed from circulation for the time being.

Commonly kept items such as pens and Bibles, will not be distributed or made available at this time.

The Welcome Center will be closed.

Kid's Ministry, Kid's Programming resumes Jan. 10 at 10:45am only

MBC Kids program indoors is offered at the 10:45am service only. Pre-registration during your family’s indoor attendance registration is highly recommended as there is a maximum 15 kids, ages pre-K through 6th grade.

Click here for more details about policies we’re implementing to keep the kids and leaders safe.

FAQs

Is there anyone who should not attend outdoor services? People over the age of 65 and those with compromised immune systems are encouraged to stay home and watch online. Please join us online if you currently have these symptoms or have had them in the last week: fever over 100 degrees, cough or sore throat, shortness of breath or contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19 (in the last 14 days).

Persons returning from travel from states with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average are advised to self-quarantine for 14 days; or self-monitor for symptoms.

Will the music and preaching be live in the room? Or just a video playing? The service in the Sanctuary will be live in-person! To create an option for families with small children and make sure we have room for everyone, we will be streaming the service to our downstairs Overflow area.

Do we have to wear masks? Will we have masks available if I do not have one? Yes, we will require the proper use of masks until further notice. Please have them on before entering any building. We regret to inform you that gaiter and bandana face coverings will not be acceptable. We have masks available if you do not have one.

Can we sing? Yes! For the time being, we can sing with masks in place.

Will the restrooms be open? Yes, restrooms are available for use one-at-a-time. We ask that they be used for emergencies only and encourage you to use the restroom at home before coming to church.

Will we receive a physical bulletin? For the time being, our weekly Enews Bulletin will continue to be digital only. If you would like to subscribe to this weekly publication, please email us at (communications@millingtonbaptist.org).

Will there be areas of the church campus cordoned off? Some campus buildings and rooms may be accessible, but only to those individuals participating in previously-approved church activities. Folks entering these spaces must adhere to the same guidelines as noted here (mandatory masks, 25% capacity and 6-feet of distance).

Will the drinking fountains be open? No.

Are people allowed to stick around after the service and fellowship? We are encouraging everyone to make their way out of the buildings fairly quickly after the conclusion of each service/activity to avoid close physical contact with others. You are welcome to continue conversations outside of the buildings at the appropriate distance.

What is MBC’s plan if someone presents signs of illness? Will you be able to safely take a temperature reading if necessary? We will have a touchless forehead thermometer available to take temperatures. If you have a temperature over 100, we will ask you to leave and ask that you watch our services online at home out of respect for others in attendance. If a child presents signs of illness, we will take them to the check-in area and take their temperature. If it is over 100 degrees, we will notify the parents to come pick them up.

Can I sit with someone not in my family unit? We strongly recommend sitting with your family unit, but if both you and the individual/family are comfortable, you may join someone outside your family unit if there is space in their group of seats.

Are we capping the attendees per service? Yes. We will only accommodate as many people in each venue as allows for 25% of capacity and 6 feet of space between family units.

What if I miss my scheduled time, can I come to another service? Yes, but please make every effort to attend the service for which you have registered. This will help us keep proper numbers and leave space for visitors.

Is it ok for me to bring a snack for my child during service? We encourage you to enjoy a healthy breakfast at home and to please refrain from bringing food or beverages into the building.

Will we offer children’s programming? Yes. Children’s programming details can be viewed here (add link)

Will we have a self-serve nursery available? The Nursery is not available at this time, but the Overflow space is accommodating for little ones and noise-friendly. We know that babies and children make unavoidable sounds during church! We hope to reopen the nursery in coming weeks.

Will we have coffee and refreshments available? Not at this time, but we hope to add in the future. Please enjoy at home before coming to service.

Will the Library be open? It will be closed for the time being.

Will there be any new volunteer positions you’ll need to serve with hospitality or maintain new cleaning guidelines? Yes, additional help is always needed and very much welcomed! Contact Scott Rajoppi to learn more about serving opportunities (srajoppi@millingtonbaptist.org).

Don’t see your question?

Email the Ministry Leadership Team at mlt@millingtonbaptist.org

Ministry Leaders will be communicating to their respective groups, however, feel free to reach out to them directly should you have specific questions or concerns.

Weekday office hours will remain the same until further notice. We will continue to monitor information as we receive it and will communicate to updates as they emerge.

You still have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others and support MBC ministries, even though we’re not gathering in-person for church, by giving through our giving page, by texting “MBCNJ” to 77977, or by mailing a check to 520 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.

Please stay connected with us by checking our website and our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for the latest information.

Most importantly, let’s remember that God is fully in control! Even though fear is spreading, our God is a strong tower and mighty fortress, the righteous run into it and we are safe (Prov. 18:10). Let’s be a “non-anxious presence” around those who don’t know and follow Jesus.

Please remember to lift up our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering, and pray for all caregivers, for those who are tirelessly working to fight this disease and for the swift development of treatment.
