For our MBC Family & Friends, please pray for:
- Please pray for Andrew Strain, he has been cleared for his upcoming surgery in July. Please pray for his surgeon and medical team, and for a successful surgery and recovery.
- Neil Lim’s mom passed away. She was not a believer and had a strained relationship with Neil. Please pray for comfort, hope and peace for Neil and his family.
- Phil Casciano has been diagnosed with kidney cancer. Please pray for him and his family during this difficult time.
- Please continue to pray for Augie Lavornia. His leg is not healing as expected from his surgery. Augie had corrective surgery last week and is home recovering. Please pray that Augie’s left knee will heal quickly and that he will gain strength to be able to walk again in a reasonable length of time.
- Darleen Gero would like prayer that God would help her find a job as soon as possible.
Our Church:
- Pray for Eric Yee of WorldVenture as he prepares his sermon for Sunday. Eric will be preaching on Matthew 1:1-17
- Pray for Pastor Bob as he attends the World Venture Board Meeting this week.
- Pray for the Senior Luncheon this Friday – last one of the season.
Our nation & those in authority.
1 Timothy 2: 1-2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
- Please pray for the those in authority in our nation.
- Continue to pray for First Choice. The U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in its favor, allowing First Choice to argue in federal court that the Attorney General’s subpoena violates its constitutional rights. While this is a significant victory, the legal battle continues as the Attorney General seeks to enforce compliance in state court. Pray that this ruling will provide lasting protection for First Choice and strengthen protections for pregnancy resource centers across the nation.
Our Extended Family & Friends:
- Please pray for Bill Miller’s sister, Ellen, who has metastatic lung cancer. She has the second chemo this Thursday. The first one caused her to be very confused. She’s already in a weakened condition due to pulmonary fibrosis & other health conditions, so please pray she can tolerate the chemo and that it will help her. Please also pray for wisdom and grace for her daughter and husband who she lives with.
- Please pray for Bill Miller’s brother, Paul, with LEMS. The medication seems to be helping as he’s having a few good days rather than all bad days! He goes next week for another Pet scan and MRI. Please pray the cancer hasn’t returned. Foremost, please pray for Paul and Nancy’s salvation.
- Anonymous prayer request: “I will be having a CT scan for a lump in my neck. Please pray it will not be a serious issue, and it will be well with me.”
- Tracy Burke requests prayer for her work friend, Josette Grillo, and her son as they lost everything in an apartment fire. They weren’t able to save two of their five precious fur baby kitties. Their family is dealing with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s for her father and stage four cancer for the paternal grandmother as well.
- Pray for the salvation of Salman, a Muslim man who Warren and Amy Huber met recently and engaged in spiritual conversation.
- Please pray for Rachel Rickershauser’s sister, Stephanie, as she will be moving out of rehab. Pray for a smooth transition back to her group home.
- Jim and Deb Leudeker ‘s son, Russell was recently diagnosed with cancer. Praise God that his PET scan was NEGATIVE for any other areas of cancer. Please pray for Russ as he struggles with the side effects from his cancer treatments.
- Sue Turner’s mom, Ginni has moved to a private nursing home where they expect she will receive a higher level of care and the family is optimistic that this will expedite the healing process. Please pray for a smooth transition and minimal confusion as she adjusts to her new surroundings and routine.
Missionary Partner for the week:
Eric and Tina Yee working with WorldVenture in Jakarta, Indonesia
Eric and Tina Yee are working faithfully in Jakarta, Indonesia helping their local church grow and prosper through transitions and growing pains. Several small groups have formed which have helped them in discipling their members. Pray for Eric’s humility and wisdom in leading the family and their church ministries including training more qualified Elders and Deacons. There are six men in their pastoral internship program and seven women going through the Simeon Trust First Principles Cohort. Please pray for Tina as she recovers from surgery earlier this year and for their church’s financial struggle. Currently, the Yees are on home assignment and will be visiting Millington Baptist Church on June 21st where Eric will be preaching.
Pray for our World:
Christian Youth Ridiculed by Peers
A young Christian continues to share her faith despite peer pressure. When she was 12, a Kazakh girl named Adiya organized a Christmas party to share the gospel with her Muslim classmates. Her invitations stating “A big star will be there!” caused some children to wonder if they would meet a celebrity. During the party, Adiya presented Christ as the star, taught Christian songs and gave everyone a wrapped copy of the Bible. While the attendees enjoyed themselves, some later ridiculed her and told her they threw the Bibles in the trash. The name-calling and ostracism hurt Adiya deeply, but she said, “I know I did the right thing. Those children had heard the gospel.” Today, Adiya still shares her faith whenever possible despite being shunned. She prays the opportunities will bear fruit and believes the event she organized years ago eventually will: “They heard the Word of God, and he will fulfill his purposes.”
