“I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.” ~Psalm 17:6
Praise God:
- Praise God for our 175th Anniversary Celebration Sunday night. We were able to worship all together with over 350 people in attendance with over 40 volunteers.
- Praise God for the wonderful Men’s Breakfast last Saturday and the 74 men that attended.
- Praise God for the good report from the FDA for Rebecca Goldstein and her team who presented an immunotherapy treatment for prostate cancer.
For our MBC Family & Friends, please pray for:
- Please pray for Andrew Strain, he has been cleared for his upcoming surgery in July. Please pray for his surgeon and medical team, and for a successful surgery and recovery.
- Neil Lim’s mom passed away. She was not a believer and had a strained relationship with Neil. Please pray for comfort, hope and peace for Neil and his family.
- Please continue to pray for Augie Lavornia. His leg is not healing as expected from his surgery. Augie had corrective surgery last week and is home recovering. Please pray that Augie’s left knee will heal quickly and that he will gain strength to be able to walk again in a reasonable length of time.
- Darleen Gero would like prayer that God would help her find a job as soon as possible.
- Please continue to pray for Marian Miller as she recovers from post-concussion syndrome. She’s having vestibular therapy and is so thankful that it’s helping in some ways. She’s looking forward to a full recovery as soon as possible! Please pray they will be able to go to Camp of the Woods which they have reservations for two weeks in July.
- Obed Calvaire would like prayer for his family can find a place of worship that they love and inspires them to be close to God.
- Praise for Joshua Arguello (22 years old) who was recently hospitalized for severe pain, underwent testing (negative for cancer) and blood transfusions at Overlook. He was treated, released, and able to attend church yesterday with his mother, Beverly. The family is grateful for the Care Team hospital visit and prayers. Please continue to pray for the Arguello family.
- Please continue to pray for Peggy Drake as she navigates many health issues. Please pray for healing and the doctors as they continue to treat her.
- Joy Skubic asks for prayer for God’s direction for selling her condo and where to go – NJ, NC, or Texas.
- Pray for Joanne Kling as she is facing some health issues. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and peace, and for Joanne to experience strength, and healing.
- Please continue to pray for our expectant mothers. Clint and Emily Pompey are expecting their second child in June.
Our Church:
- Pray for Pastor Bob Erbig as he prepares his sermon for next Sunday. He will be preaching on Jonah 1:1-3
Our nation & those in authority.
1 Timothy 2: 1-2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
- Please pray for the those in authority in our nation.
- Continue to pray for First Choice. The U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in its favor, allowing First Choice to argue in federal court that the Attorney General’s subpoena violates its constitutional rights. While this is a significant victory, the legal battle continues as the Attorney General seeks to enforce compliance in state court. Pray that this ruling will provide lasting protection for First Choice and strengthen protections for pregnancy resource centers across the nation.
Our Extended Family & Friends:
- Jim and Deb Leudeker ‘s son, Russell was recently diagnosed with cancer. Praise God that his PET scan was NEGATIVE for any other areas of cancer. Russ will still have to follow up with chemo, but this was great news.
- Sue Turner’s mom, Ginni has moved to a private nursing home where they expect she will receive a higher level of care and the family is optimistic that this will expedite the healing process. Please pray for a smooth transition and minimal confusion as she adjusts to her new surroundings and routine.
- David Bachman would like prayer for his son, Tim, who is suffering with PTSD from his year of deployment in Jordan from 2018-2019, and we have learned that he has considered deliberately leaving this earth on two recent instances (Mother’s Day and Memorial Day). Please pray for him to receive healing with the connections that he has available.
- Connie Wilken would like to thank you all for continued prayers for her daughter, Sydney. She’s still struggling. Connie is seeing some breakthroughs and asking for more support and prayers. It’s been a long journey. Connie is asking for a revelation of Christ Jesus for both Sydney and wisdom for herself. Connie knows He’s working.
- Please pray for Bill Miller’s sister, Ellen, who has metastatic lung cancer with hot spots in other places. She started chemo but is already in a weakened condition due to pulmonary fibrosis & other health conditions. Please also pray for wisdom and grace for her daughter and husband who she lives with.
- Please pray for Bill Miller’s brother, Paul, as he’s been diagnosed with LEMS. The medication seems to be helping as he’s having a few good days rather than all bad days! Please pray for Paul and Nancy’s salvation.
Missionary Partner for the week:
Joe Violi, Navigators 20’s, Philadelphia
Joe lives near Philadelphia and ministers with Nav20s, a network of recent college grads committed to growing in faith, vocation, community and mission. Recently he’s been meeting with a Penn State graduate who in turn is reaching out to unsaved college friends. Pray for this young man (Caleb) as he gets married over the summer. Also pray for Joe, that he would rejoice at what the Lord has begun and trust Him to provide growth. At times the growth seems slow. “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” – Zech 4:10 (NLT)
Pray for our World:
Church Targeted with Islamic Graffiti, Mob Attack
A mob attacked a church after claiming a deacon had blasphemed Islam. The deacon discovered “Muhammad,” the name of Islam’s founder, painted on an alleyway in front of a church. He cleaned it up before anyone could walk on it and accuse the church of blasphemy. Regardless, someone rallied a mob to attack the church and the deacon, saying he had no right to touch the word as he wasn’t Muslim. When the mob arrived, the deacon and the church’s pastor fled. The deacon lost his job and has been living in hiding. Using surveillance videos, police arrested the person responsible for the graffiti, who claimed to be mentally unstable and was released after a few days. The global body of Christ is now helping the deacon start a new business. “Please pray for the safety of this church, its pastor and its members,” asked a front-line worker. “And pray that Pakistani Christians will be bold in spite of these vicious attacks.”
