As kids prepare to return to school this fall, anxiety is at an all-time high. Anxiety can be caused by a variety of things, including social and academic pressures, past trauma, family or genetic influences, and chemical imbalances. Add to this the reality of a global pandemic and civil unrest—anxiety is bound to result.
Fear is a reaction to something we know is real — anxiety involves imagining threats, and stressing about what might be real. 61% of teens feel a lot of pressure to get good grades, which can lead to performance anxiety. If we try to combat anxiety by only focusing on the present, we might neglect the necessary preparations for the future, which can lead to more anxiety later. Believing our anxiety, and the story in our minds, and avoiding what makes us anxious all serve to reinforce our anxiety.
In this parenting webinar, we will discuss the reality of anxiety and ways to cope with it through developing redemptive communities and learning what the Bible says about fear. The truth is– God wants to enable us to face our reality with confidence!
Parents of all ages are welcome to attend. If you have teenagers you are encouraged to attend with them!
This webinar is free, but please register your attendance. You will be emailed Zoom login information prior to the webinar event.
