Social media and anxiety in the teenage life
Teens, do you ever feel anxious and alone, even though you are constantly getting messages on social media and texts all throughout the day?
Parents, do you ever feel like you just want to have one conversation with your teen without their phone getting in the way?
Don't you wish your phone came with a manual for how to navigate the good, the bad, and the ugly of social media and the internet? Even though we are connected to our phones at all times and it would seem that many of our relationships and more information are at our fingertips, there has been a significant increase in the rates of people experiencing anxiety, depression and feelings of loneliness.
Being connected at all times has altered the way we experience relationships and has effected how we parent our teens. Our phones don't have to be the enemy, but we all need the tools for how to use our phones and social media in a healthy and balanced way.
