5K Race for Recovery
Tuesday, July 4, 2017, 9am

Market Street Mission is hosting their third annual 5K Race for Recovery on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 9am. The race will be held at Central Park of Morris Plains and will include a Kids' Fun Run and a 1 mile walk with interactive educational opportunities for the walkers to learn more about the mission.

The major goals of this event are to:

  • Increase the community's awareness of the Market Street Mission and all that they do.
  • Increase the community's awareness around addiction and the resources available to them.
  • Bring family and friends together to worship, fellowship and have FUN!

In order to make this event a success, Market Street Mission is looking for volunteers. Check out the list of volunteer opportunities and let Market Street Mission know you can help.

Charity Bagging Event
Saturday, June 17, 10am-4pm

We are asking volunteers to come support the Market Street Mission Race for Recovery by bagging groceries at the Shop Rite of Greater Morristown, located at 178 E. Hanover Ave. in Cedar Knolls. Participants are asked to bag customer groceries for an hour at a time in return for (we hope) tips which go into our MSM Race for Recovery cans. Any proceeds left over from the race will go into the mission Life Change Recovery Program. Time slots from 10am-4pm are available. Anyone who would like to sign up can contact Susan Bosworth.

Eyeglasses Needed at Market Street Mission

Many men who come to the Mission for help have poor eyesight. We are collecting and recycling glasses in an effort to help the men in our recovery program with vision loss. If you no longer need your used glasses, please consider donating them to the Market Street Mission. By donating them you can give a gift of vision to someone in need. You can drop off your used glasses at the front desk of the Mission located at 9 Market Street in Morristown, ship them to MSM or call to arrange for a pick up. Contact Nancy Motley at 973-538-6337.
