National Recovery Month
Did you know? Prescription drugs, specifically opioids, are one of the most commonly abused substances by teens 14 years and older in the United States. In 2015, an estimated 276,000 adolescents were non-medical users of pain relievers, with 122,000 being addicted to these substances. Our community is suffering – often in silence through shame, helplessness or unawareness.
The Sunday, September 8, in recognition of National Recovery Month, we will address the topics of addiction, substance abuse, and the hope and joy of recovery.
Due to the sensitive sermon topic, children’s programs are available during both the 9am and the 10:45am services for nursery- 6th grade.
